State Of Origin Battle Stamps The Bulli Gold Cup Final Wednesday Night

Queenslander will carry the day for the Queenslanders against a strong field of NSW sprinters in the $25,000 Group 2 Ranvet Gold Cup at Bulli on Wednesday Night over the 472 distance

Queenslander Elite Blue Size will be the hardest to beat following his sizzling 26.30 trial at Bulli last and the trial will improve his chances of taking out the rich first prize of $25,000.

Elite Blue Size is carrying a slight injury he received in his heat losing the nail form the outside toe on his back foot, but going on his trial last Friday it should not hinder him unless he is checked in running.

The Queenslander has an outstanding record winning 18 races from 24 starts with a 29.97 Wentworth Park win to his credit.

Pulp appears to be the main danger for NSW trainer Craig Chappelow as the greyhound has an impressive record at Bulli winning 7 from 8 starts recording a best time of 26.08 for the 472 meter trip. Pulp’s maid problem is that he sometimes begins tardily and if he does not get the early luck Pulp will have to be at his brilliant best.

The Mark Bell trained Hooky Booky has to be included as a major contender after leading Elite Blue Size in the Maitland heat and hanging on to defeat the former by a length. Hooky Booky has a personal best of 26.17 at Bulli winning 4 from 7 starts and has drawn the one box . Hooky Booky is a notorious bad kennel dog which could hamper the greyhound performance in the shadows of the post.

from the strong Wheeler Kennel is beautifully drawn in the outside alley and has won four races and finished 2nd in all his seven starts at Bulli and has recorded at all his wins with the fastest being 26.16. Brendan Wheeler is happy with the eight box and one thing you can be sure of Gripen Bale will charging home at a rate of knots in the run to the judge.

The trained Repeated winner of the second heat is nicely drawn in box two and has to be included in calculations following his strong finishing heat win last week in the time of 26.39 shooting through along the rails to defeat Droopy’s Fool and Greta Bale.

Hesa Felon winner of 15 races from 25 starts for trainer Darren Sultana was the other Maitland heat winner defeating Shirl’s Magic in the time of 25.36.

The support programme at Bulli is wonderful and we see another Queenslander taking on the NSW greyhounds in the Cabra Vale Diggers Trophy over the 472 trip. Gnarley Boy appeared at Bulli in January for trainer Malcolm Dawson running second to beaten a half length in the time of 26.35 and is in great from winning his last 4 starts at Albion Park in good times. Gnarley Boy is perfectly draw in box one but he is against some of our best sprinters , , Greta Bale, Hurricane Luke, Regal love and Budapest all classy performers at Bulli.

The state of Origin can be seen live on course at Bulli and all the Queensland supporters will be on Elite Blue Size to start the night of well for them go the Blues.

May the best greyhound win have a wonderful day and a winning week.
