Tartaglia Pins Hopes On Flooded As The Omen Bet

could well be the omen bet for punters at on Wednesday night, following the torrential rains which lashed Victoria this week.

From the Newcomb kennel of Rob Tartaglia, Flooded has been racing consistently and is due for a change of luck.

The son of Over Flo will tonight jump from Box 7, in Race 9 on the twelve race program.

“He's suited to the 390 metres of the race, and a wide draw is a definite advantage for him.” Tartaglia said.

Tartaglia rates Flooded as the hardest chasing dog he has ever trained.

“He's a good, placid dog at home, but when he gets into the boxes it's a different story as he tends to be a bit boisterous” he said

The son of Over Flo's box manners have not affected his chances in races though, as he is a strong dog who runs home hard in his races.

Flooded ran third at two starts ago, before an impressive second to the up and coming Sheylea at last night.

Flooded has won at the track and distance in October, but will need to be on his best behavior in the race.

“He needs some luck in running, but if he can jump with them he will be a great chance in the race.”

Flooded represents good each way value for punters, and is rated a 16/1 chance in pre post markets.

Tartaglia said that it is a very open race which has a number of chances engaged.

Hardest for Flooded to beat in the race could well be Sure Cool and .

Sure Cool is looking to make it three wins in succession for her trainer Kevin Mugavin.

Her last two wins have been at her home track of Warrnambool, and she is sure to be suited by her coveted Box 1 draw.

Classic Diva from the kennel is generally quick out of the boxes.

If he is able to get to the lead on the first turn he is sure to give the opposition something to chase.

Meanwhile, local disability support organization E W Tipping Foundation will be cheering on their greyhound Barnstormer in today's final at The Meadows.

The 2 race to be run over 525 metres will only be Barnstormer's fifth race start, but the Andy Stewart chaser is sure to give a good account of himself.

Barnstormer will, however, have to overcome an awkwardly Box 5 draw in the final.

If Barnstormer is successful today, E W Tipping will pocket $5,000 courtesy of Greyhound , and 10% of the greyhound's earnings over the next 12 months.

Should Barnstormer run 2nd he will earn his group $2,000, or 3rd will provide the group with $1,000.

E W Tipping Foundation is a leading provider of support services to people with disabilities, ageing Victorians, children, families and carers in the local area.
