Alison Walker Has Plans For Queen Ahmose
Bagdad owner – trainer Allison Walker is planning firstly to give Monday night's Furniture City Ladies Bracelet (515 metres) winner Queen Ahmose (Collision – Shepherd's Girl) a chance in distance races and that proving successful, a start at Sandown sometime in the future.
The young trainer rates the nine time winner the best chaser that she has had the pleasure of training and with that in mind, will set the bar a tad higher.
“Queen Ahmose provided me with my initial feature race victory on Monday night and I believe that she will ultimately prove to be a very handy chaser,” she explained this week.
“I am hoping that she will measure up in longer races and it has always been my ambition to have a runner interstate, so we will wait and see what happens.”
Walker races the bitch in partnership with Paul Lee and on Monday night, after racing in the leading division throughout, she put paid to a strong Ladies Bracelet field in impressive fashion.
At the wire she had three lengths to spare on her opposition, recording a best of the night time of 29.87 and paying the good win dividend of $6.90.
Once again the highly rated David Crosswell owned and prepared bitch She's All Class struck early bother in running and finished well back.
Queen Ahmose is a member of the first litter of Collide bitch Shepherd's Girl, which includes the other winners Terror Time, Cuddle Me Ted, Swanky Blue and Dark Gladiator.
Meanwhile former New South Welshman Robert Nelson, who relocated to Devonport a couple of years ago, prepared his first winner on Tasmanian soil at his initial attempt when Bitmore Lyndee (Bit Chili – Tadmore Lyndee) was successful at Tuesday's NWGRC meeting conducted at the Devonport Raceway.
