Allan Anderson Rates Lashing Jill Highly

Mangalore trainer Allan Anderson considers smart bitch Lashing Jill ( – Illusion), the winner of five races to date, to be potentially the best chaser he has handled during his forty year involvement in the sport.

“Lashing Jill is invariably slow to begin, but has an abundance of speed and the desire to win,” he explained on Tuesday.

“She is probably better suited over a bit of distance at the moment and is shaping up as my best prospect since Ridicule, which won me fifteen races,” he added.

Having her first run over 720 metres, Lashing Jill accounted for a smart field at Monday night's LGRC meeting when she took out one of two heats of thetote.com.au Distance Championship.

The bitch prevailed by two lengths in the time of 42.86 and defeated the very smart chasers Cheetah Zorro and Lady, while paying a win dividend of $5.20.

She has drawn the white box in next week's Distance Championship final and is sure to give a great sight, in what will be a keenly contested affair.

“The field is very even and for that reason I cannot nominate a danger, in fact the remaining seven runners are a danger as far as I am concerned,” the veteran trainer explained.

Former harness racing mentor Brendan Purcell took out the remaining Distance Championship heat with Happy Tiger ( – Jacinta Bale), which defeated Terror Time and Scrawny in the time of 42.85.

Later in Monday night's programme Allan Anderson, was seen once again in the winners circle with Lashing Jill's litter-mate Lashing Illusion, which took out the Goodyear Auto Care Grade 4 (515 metres).

The bitch was impressive in defeating Ferraro Sniper and Hello Benny by four lengths, in the time of 30.32 while paying a win dividend of $3.10.

Lashing Illusion has now won four races from the Anderson kennel and has also been entered for next Monday night's meeting.

The Tote Racing Centre is becoming something of a “happy hunting ground” for the trainer, who several weeks ago also prepared a double at the venue when Lasing Lad (Lilli Pilli Lad – Illusion) and Lashing Juanne ( Buckingham Chuck – Sienna Blue) were successful.

Anderson is currently preparing a team of twelve and holds high hopes for a litter by from the well related bitch Jamella Sarah.

Meanwhile the very fast conveyance Cointreau Cap () continued on his winning way at the LGRC meeting, by blitzing a smart field in the Amino Cal Plus Invitation (515 metres).

Now the winner of 13 of 26 lifetime outings, he prevailed by eight lengths in the time of 29.85 and paid the respectable win dividend of $2.20.

Cointreau Cap changed hands recently for a large sum and is now raced by the Tribal Syndicate and prepared at Tea Tree by Gary Greig.
