Top Bitches Clash In Launceston Final

Classy bitches She's All Class ( – It's A She) and Emerald Lee (Paddy's Flame – Inbetween Days) may fight out the finish of Division 1 of the J G Nelson Cup (515 metres) to be decided at Monday night's LGRC meeting at the Tote Racing Centre.

She's All Class in particular, is racing in superlative form and without doubt ace trainer David Crosswell will have her cherry ripe for Monday night's assignment.

The bitch has won her last eight starts in succession and can boast a lifetime record of 15 victories from only 20 outings and is renowned for her explosive speed from the boxes.

From the blue box on Monday night it is highly likely that she will once again occupy the premier position and take plenty of running down.

Emerald Lee, an occupant of 's Mangalore kennel, is the winner of 21 of 38 outings and has drawn the green box on Monday night.

She is a class act, but will have to be right at her top and enjoy luck in running to have a chance of turning the tables on her illustrious rival.

The brilliant Buckle Up Wes () has drawn the black box in Division 2 of the J G Nelson Cup (515 metres) and is the logical favourite for the event.

The prepared chaser is the winner of seven of his 10 starts and is shaping up as one of Tasmania's most promising greyhounds.

Last Monday night he for the JG Nelson Cup series by winning his heat in the fastest time of the night 29.70, to continue the great run of success being experienced by owners Robyn Johnson and Sharon Sutton.

Division 3 of the Cup, an annual feature named in honour of one of the industries foremost administrators, is a much more open affair, with heat winners Vel Magic ( – Magical Potion) and Enfield Magic (Path To Power – Charismatic Jak) drawn the check and blue boxes respectively.

An occupant of Russell Watts Moorleah kennel, the lightly raced Vel Magic is the winner of two of his last three outings and is expected to give a great sight.

Meanwhile the old champ Rewind (Collide – Ricky's Angel) was back doing what he does best at the Raceway on Tuesday afternoon when he took out the Virbac Vetsearch Invitation (452 metres) in typical bulldog fashion.

For a stride on the turn for home he looked in trouble, but as is invariably the case the old fellow fought on tenaciously in the lane to score his 60th lifetime victory – a remarkable achievement if ever there was one.

Veteran Bracknell mentor Maurie Strickland enjoyed a highly successful meeting, winning also with Simply Wunder (Where's Pedro – Simply Pettigo) and Nicknac Norris ( – Subjective Magic).
