Jets, mother Classy Kate also made the rich final back in 2009 to give Claude and Norma their first finalist. Unfortunately she drew box 6 in the final and was unplaced.

Claude and kennel foreman Norma will be hoping Kate’s Son Jet can do what his brilliant mother couldn’t, and win Mondays final.

Dayseas Jet to Claude’s surprise has been in sensational form since dropping a back muscle, usually a career ending injury. Only 9 starts back the Aug 2010 whelping strung together 4 wins in a week; with 2 wins coming at and 2 at . And to top things off, at his last start he won at Albion Park on a Thursday night giving the pair their first Thursday night winner in years. The Black chaser has an outstanding record having started 45 times for 19 wins, 9 seconds and 6 thirds.

Jets mother, Classy Kate; has a litter to which are now 6 months old, and is currently being served by Bekim Bale some of which will be for at weaning.

Claude and Norma train from a small property at Gilberton in Queensland and are delighted to have another finalist in the rich series.

Claude lost all hope after Jet begun slowly in the heat and was last early, but to Claude’s surprise he made a last to first dash to score in 23.58; booking himself a birth in Mondays final.

Claude is more hopeful than confident in Mondays final, “Hes been beginning slowly of late and he will need to jump and lead to win the big one” says Claude.

Claude is thankful to his buddies at Casino Greyhound track where the team race most weeks, “Alot of the guys congratulated me when he won his heat”.

The usual team will be heading down for the final Monday, “We are even allowing Norma to come along joked Claude’. Norma heads up the operation when the team are off racing. Penny and kennel punter will also accompany Claude, with Jim having had plenty on Jet to win pre-post at huge odds of 50-1.

No doubt if the Dacey’s bring home the Monday they will allow Norma a long long holiday; and of course she will relinquish the role of kennel foreman for a little while!
