Two Queensland greyhound trainers suspended pending inquiry over race fixing charges
The Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) has charged two greyhound trainers with race fixing.
Stewards allege greyhound trainers Andrew Clarke and Matthew Evans were involved in a corrupt transaction in August last year when the greyhound Uncle Charlie was scratched from Race 1 at Ipswich to enable the greyhound Aerobic Rouge to gain a start in the race.
Both trainers face a number of charges in respect of race fixing, corrupt conduct, engaging in conduct detrimental to the interest of greyhound racing and making false or misleading statements to stewards.
Due to the serious allegations of race fixing and corrupt conduct the licences of both trainers have been suspended pending the outcome of the steward's inquiry.
Mr Clarke and Mr Evans heave been given 14 days from 13 March to provide a response to the charges.
