Unlawful Entry boxed to dominate in 2016 Bendigo Cup

will be out to secure his third race victory on Friday night when he contests the $47,000-to-the-winner (425m).

Trained by leading Victorian trainers Kelly and Brett Bravo, Unlawful Entry is the $4.20 second elect with Sportsbet following his sensational 23.68 heat victory on Sunday night.

Jumping fairly from box three on that occasion, the son of and She Ain't Late worked his way into the race around the turn before storming down the outside to score a narrow victory over Zipping Arnold.

said she was happy with his performance which saw him gain a start in the final as the joint fastest qualifier with , the $3.50 favourite to get the cash in the decider.

“I had been saying all week that I thought he might go alright,” Bravo said, “It was a tough heat with a lot of speed, but somehow he managed.

“He jumped ok in his heat but the five took a bit of his running…not that he got galloped on but he definitely got hampered before he was able to get in the clear and get going.

“I still didn't think he was going to get there when he turned for home because Zipping Arnold is a very good 450m dog – but he got there in the end.”

Bravo says the brindle and white chaser is much better suited in box seven this week.

“I think he is better drawn off the track because there is a lot of pace in the final so he probably would have struggled from the inside.

“It all depends on how he comes out…when you first put him in the boxes he gets down, but half the time when the lids open he is just standing there.

“Because of that you just don't know what you are going to get with him.”

Despite his poor box manners, Unlawful Entry's has seen him win 17 of his 42 starts including last year's Group 1 Hobart Thousand and Group 2 . A winner of $242,553 in prize money, he also holds track records at Park (28.95) and (24.72).

Bravo says when he does everything right, there probably isn't a dog in the country which could match him.

“Realistically when he does what he is actually capable of then he is probably the fastest dog in Australia.

“Aston Bolero jumped on the bunny in his heat and went the same time as Unlawful Entry who checked off heels and had to come from behind.

“His ability is just crazy, he just isn't consistent.”

The Group 2 Bendigo Cup is race eight on the card this Friday night and is set to jump at 9:28pm.
