Fastest heat winner Glen Gallon has drew box 1, leading TAB to install the star Queenslander a $3.70 favourite.
Following the box draw, trainers Graeme Bate, Tony Brett and Stephen McKenna shared their thoughts with RSN’s Mick McGuane and Adam White, and all were optimistic about their runner’s chances in the final.
The 2012 TAB Melbourne Cup is one of the most open in the event’s 57 year history. It is the highlight of an outstanding card of greyhound racing that also includes the $145,000 Group 1 Solo Bold Trease, featuring super star Miata chasing a fourth Group title.

The TAB is guaranteeing a $500,000 quadrella pool on Thursday night’s meeting. First leg kicks off on race 5 at 8.28pm.
On course, one lucky patron will have the chance to spin the Sandown Big Wheel for the chance to win $500,000 cash, while one in eight patrons will win a $25 mystery bet on the TAB Melbourne Cup.
Entry to Thursday night’s TAB Melbourne Cup night is free. Gates open at 6.00pm with the first race at 7.08pm.
