Beti Grabiel Looking For A Great Thyme At Ballarat

Ballan trainer Fred Barbara is hoping that his chaser Beti Graibel can get back on the winners list at Thursday’s twilight race meeting at Ballarat.

“This is her fourth start back from injury, so she should now be ready to show her best form.” Barbara said.

Since returning from injury Beti Graibel has been a model of consistency, even though she has not had much luck in running.

Beti Graibel will be stepping up in distance from her last start at over 457 metres to the 550 metres of the Lion Quality Products Mixed Grade 4/5 race.

The extra distance should not affect the daughter of local sire Bombastic Shiraz, as she already boasts three wins and two placings from just eight starts at the track and distance.

Beti Graibel will jump from Box 5, but has the necessary speed from the to overcome this draw.

“She has been working up to a win. With some luck in running she should be in the finish of the race.”

Hardest for Beti Graibel to beat should be Great Thyme, and local chaser Mr. Deniro.

Great Thyme is from the kennel which has been of late.

She is a prolific performer on the track, and has drawn ideally in the coveted Box 1.

Great Thyme is generally quick out of the boxes, and although stepping up in distance will be sure to give the opposition something to chase.

Mr. Deniro has also won at the track and distance, with his best race performances coming when he is able to lead from the boxes.

The son of has been racing without luck of late, but is also coming back from city class races.

Although drawing awkwardly in Box 4 he is still a chance in what could prove to be an open race.

Meanwhile, the program also finalizes the seventeen heats of the Victorian Breeders Maiden series.

There are five heats on the eleven race program, with greyhounds qualifying from the heats going through to the semi finals which will be held next Wednesday night.
