Carinya Society Right Behind Great Chase Rep Limburg Luke
Coburg organisation Carinya Society will win $1,000 if the greyhound Limburg Luke wins at Cranbourne on Tuesday.
Carinya Society is one of 64 remaining groups that cater for the intellectually and physically disabled to progress through to the second week of the three-week racing series, the Great Chase, proudly supported by your local TAB.
Already $18,000 has been distributed to 36 of the groups – including Carinya Society – when their greyhounds earned them $500 each for winning a heat of the series last week.
Around 2,000 clients and carers from 140 organisations ventured to the races last week to cheer on their greyhound in the heats and enjoy a free day or night of entertainment.
The eight groups matched to this week's Provincial Final winners will not just earn a further $1,000, but they'll progress through to the Great Chase Grand Final, to be held at The Meadows (20 km north of Melbourne) on November 26, where the winning group will earn a further $5,000 plus the equivalent of 10% of their greyhound's prize money for 12 months.
