Giles Claims Castle Of Mey Trophy

Tanjil South trainer narrowly won the $6000 final of the with greyhound Spences Shadow at Glenview Park, on .

While the Castle of Mey Trophy, in memory of the Queen Mother and sanctioned by the Royal Family, was the special feature, it was also Go The Pink day.

The club donated $100 to the Breast Cancer Foundation for every winner from box eight (pink).

There were two winners from the pink – Remo Mako for Robert Colpoys from Bass and Sixty Four for Traralgon's Don Hill.

The restaurant and lounge areas were covered in pink balloons and ribbons on the day.

After Spences Shadow won in a brilliant 29.82, Peter Giles' son Michael donated another $200 to the cause on behalf of the family.

Trainers David Crawford and Don Hill each donated $100 and Robyn Thorburn, a tireless worker in the kennels, also donated $100.

More funds raised throughout the night resulted in $1000 going towards cancer research.
