86(q): Commits or omits to do any act or engages in conduct which is in any way detrimental or prejudicial to the interest, welfare, image, control or promotion of greyhound racing.
Stewards on the 26 September and 21 November 2014, conducted an inquiry into an incident that occurred at the Bendigo Greyhound Racing Association canteen area during a race meeting conducted on 24 September 2014, between licenced persons Mr. Billy Ruff and Mr. Jason Sposito.
During the investigation, Stewards received evidence from registered attendants Mr. Jason Sposito and Mr. Billy Ruff as well as one other licenced person.
After hearing the evidence Stewards charged Mr. Sposito with a breach of Greyhounds Australasia Rule 86(q) in that he did engage in conduct towards Mr. Ruff by making unnecessary physical contact which in the opinion of Stewards was detrimental to the interest, image and promotion of greyhound racing.
Mr Sposito pleaded guilty to the charge.
Stewards found Mr Sposito guilty as charged and issued him with a fine of $200, wholly suspended for 6 months on the condition that no further incidents of a similar nature occur.
