The Sandown Greyhound Racing Club is delighted to announce Macro Meats as naming rights sponsor for three of its feature races in 2009.
In a major boost to Victorian greyhound racing, Macro Meats will sponsor the Group 3 Macro Meats Lizrene Classic, Group 1 Macro Meats Crown Classic (formerly the Sapphire Crown Classic), and the Group 3 Macro Meats Shootout.
The announcement follows Macro Meat’s sponsorship of The Meadows’ Rookie Rebel, Zoom Top and Temlee features.
“Macro Meats is great friend and supporter of greyhound racing in this country, and we’re delighted to have them on board at Sandown Park,” said Sandown Chairman Geoff Dawson.
Established in South Australia in 1987, Macro Meats has grown to become Australia’s largest supplier of kangaroo meat to the food service industry and is a recognised leader in its field. In 2009, Macro Meats’ full range of Retail Ready products are a familiar item in all major supermarket chains, as well as being on menus in hotels, restaurants and cafes in all states of Australia. Macro Meats also export its products to numerous countries around the world.
“Victoria is home to the best greyhound racing in Australia, and we’re excited to now be involved with both Victorian metro clubs,” said Macro Meats founder and Managing Director Ray Borda.
“We’re looking forward to continuing our association with greyhound racing at the highest level and generating the level of exposure which comes with that type of branding.”
The 2009 Macro Meats Lizrene Classic kicks off the Sandown Autumn Stayers Series, the heats of which will be run on Thursday 16 April.
