Marketing Man John Tripodi Appointed To Greyhound Racing Victoria Board

The new Board of Greyhound is now complete with the appointment of a marketing expert announced today by Minister for Racing Denis Napthine.

Dr Napthine said John Tripodi would join GRV as the final member of the renewed Board.

He will join GRV chairman Peter Caillard, and fellow board members Jenni Coustley, Stephen Silk and Geoff Miles.

“Mr Tripodi brings to the GRV Board extensive experience in marketing and brand management having held senior management roles at Mars and L'Oreal.

“Mr Tripodi is now the Chief Executive Officer of Twenty3, a business and marketing consulting company he helped establish which specialises in sports and entertainment. He has also recently been to the position of Adjunct Professor at RMIT University's School of Economics, Finance and Marketing.

Dr Napthine said Greyhound racing was a valuable sector of the Victorian racing industry but suffered setbacks earlier this year, when the Victorian Ombudsman raised serious issues over the adminstration of the code,”.

“The board and GRV staff have been working hard to implement the recommendations of the Ombudsman and restore confidence in the of the code's controlling body.

“Greyhound racing is a growing sport in Victoria and is an important part of the state's economy contributing more than $200 million annually in economic benefits to the State and providing more than 1,600 jobs,” Dr Napthine said.

Greyhound Racing Victoria is the industry controlling body with responsibility for the regulation, management and promotion of greyhound racing in Victoria.
