Miata Scratched From The Meadows Group 1 Superstayers Final

For the second year in a row the glamour girl of , Miata; has been scratched from the Superstayers Final at .

In 2012, Miata was a race eve scratching from the Superstayers race with trainer Paul Stuart saying she was “jaded”.

This year Stuart has had to pull Miata out of the same race saying that she “tore a shoulder while galloping in preparation for Saturday night's final” and that he couldn't start her unless she was absolutely 100% right.

The scratching of Miata opens the door for Destini Fireball ($2.80 to $2) to claim his third 1 victory in the Superstayers final at The Meadows on Saturday night.

Destini Fireball – the fastest heat winner and unbeaten over the distance in five attempts – will now start a short-priced favourite to win the race.

He has won 10 of his last 11 starts, including the Group 1 at The Meadows (two starts ago) where he beat Miata. He has won 16 of his 30 career starts.

“It is hard to see what will beat Destini Fireball now, he is perfectly boxed and is improving with each run,” said TAB's Matt Jenkins.

“Xylia Allen is value according to our punters and is the best backed runner in the race.

“She was mowed down in the final stages by Miata last week, but will be the one doing the chasing on Saturday night.”

Spud Regis ($2.90) looks set to start favourite in a very open .

First reserve Lektra Scarlett gains the run now for owner and and trainer from box 8.
