Three Months Suspension For Victorian Greyhounds Trainer’s Online Forum Comments

on 14 November 2012 conducted an Inquiry into comments that were posted on the website ‘Aussie Greyhound Forum’ on 21 September 2012, regarding members of the Racing and Disciplinary Board () and the Integrity Department of .

Stewards heard evidence from Mr. M Bowerman.

After considering the evidence, Stewards charged Mr Bowerman with a breach of GAR86 (q) in that he did post information online which in the opinion of Stewards was detrimental to the interest and image of Greyhound Racing.

Mr. Bowerman pleaded guilty to the charge.

Stewards found Mr. Bowerman guilty as charged. After taking into consideration his guilty plea and the remorse he showed for the comments he posted; Stewards suspended Mr. Bowerman’s licence for a period of six (6) months, with three (3) months wholly suspended for six (6) months, effective midnight 14 November 2012.

Dont forget that submissions you make to the NSW Greyhound Racing Inquiry are protected by parliamentary privilege If you Vote 1 for greyhound racing by making a submission doe not publish your submission elsewhere unless you get permission of the inquiry. Your submission if suitable (and most submissions are) will be exhibited on the inquiry web-site when a critical mass of submissions have been received. Be patient sometimes it takes time for the inquiry to publish. If you ignore this advice then you will be in potential position where you could loose your protection against defamation offered by the parliamentary… Read more »
