Xylia Allen Breaks The Meadows 600 Metre Track Record

In an era where the term “freak” is thrown around as liberally as confetti at a wedding, Xylia Allen is the genuine article.

Combining an almost perfect blend of speed and stamina, the daughter of and Tayah Bale (Droopys Vieri – Francesca Bale) added another to her list on Saturday night, a list which is already as long as the one Santa Claus carries around at Christmas.

This time it was 600 metre journey that the Jenny Hunt trained conveyance traversed quicker than anyone has ever before. The 31kg black bitch sheared 0.07 seconds off the time standard set by Bookkeeper in October of last year, stopping the clock at 33.98 and defeating a solid field which included One winner Hawk Alone. In an amazing feat, Xylia Allen has now set new track records at five of her last six wins.

After showing her usual impeccable manners from box five, the three-time Group One winner made the race a one act affair from the first turn when she crossed to the rails to lead from Lethal Three (1).

From that point, the 37-month-old was always going to prove harder to catch than the Loch Ness Monster, as she gradually extended her lead throughout the race before exploding away in the home straight.

By the time she hit the line to record her 30th win from just 66 starts, Xylia Allen was some eight lengths ahead of her nearest rival Hawk Alone (3).

Should she manage to continue in the same vein that she has in recent times, the sky is the limit for the speed machine known as Xylia Allen.

How many hydrocortisone tablets was it they found at the previous trainer’s joint ? No credibility whatsoever for any dog from the camp.
