Trained at Bald Hills by Lyle “Digger” Bridges, Sherwood Belle will jump from Box 2 in heat seven on the program.
The Victorian Breeders Series has attracted a large number of entries, with twelve heats to be conducted Wednesday, and the remaining five heats to be run on Thursday’s Twilight race program.
The series throughout the years has unearthed many champions of the track, and the heats to be conducted over the next two days should not be any different.
The series is run over a three week period, with four semi finals to be run next Wednesday night and the final the following week.
Sherwood Belle (Firefly Boy-Magwood) was also bred by Bridges, with the same damline having produced local multiple race winner Atlantic Prince.
“It’s her first race start but she’s drawn well.” Bridges said.
Hopefully she can come out running and give the opposition something to chase.”
Hardest for Sherwood Belle to beat in her heat could well be Get Shakey and Go Wild Chloe.
Get Shakey is from the Michelle Mallia-Magri kennel, and has recorded three placings from as many race starts.
He generally races on the pace and gets his chance to break through.
Fellow race debutante Go Wild Chloe will have to overcome an awkward Box 6 draw to advance to the semi finals next week.
Her damline, Spirit Of Seny, produced the brilliant In For Life and she is sure to be well educated by her trainer Gary Paull.
Breeders of the greyhounds are also not forgotten, as the breeders of all eight of the chasers to make the final will receive VBIS incentive payments.
