Isaac the boss of 2015 Group 2 WA Derby final

LEXIA Isaac’s Fun Boss caused a massive upset in Saturday night’s Derby final at Cannington, scoring an all-the-way victory at the massive odds of $26.

Beginning brilliantly from box four, the son of Kinloch Brae and Alotta Fun rolled straight to the early lead, crossing to the rails in the run to the first turn and kicking clear ahead of Paul Stuart’s Tureaud and favourite .

In the run into the back straight, Fun Boss was cruising along in front, with Nero Bolt booting up on the inside of Tureaud to take up second ahead of an improving Dyna Double One.

Both known for their strength, Nero Bolt and Dyna Double One swiftly began closing the margin, but their best efforts were not good enough in the run to the line, with Fun Boss holding off Dyna Double One by a head and Nero Bolt a further half a head away back in third.

Fun Boss has now won 9 of his 17 race starts, with his 30.24 race time a new personal best over the 530-metre trip at Cannington.
