Troy Murray scores a flash win in Group 2 WA Oaks

TROY Murray’s Real Flash stamped herself as one of the most promising bitches to have come out of South Australia in recent years with a terrific victory in Saturday night’s Group 2 WA Oaks at Cannington.

Stepping cleanly from box five, the daughter of Vee Man Vane and Bonegilla Flash got clear room to move early and hit the accelerator, strolling to the lead in the run to the winning post on the first occasion ahead of Ruble Monelli (box three) and Weblec Belle (box two).

Heading down the back and Real Flash was out in front and in a world of her own. Despite a strong finish from Victorian bitch Weblec Belle, Real Flash was too good as she strode to the line two-and-a-half-lengths clear in a fast 30.26.

Weblec Belle ran a top second for Jeff Britton with WA trainer Dave Hobby collecting third with Ruble Monelli, one of the race outsiders.

Real Flash has now won five races from just 10 starts with four minor placings and just under $50,000 in prize money earnings. From those starts she has also recorded an electrifying 29.49 win at Angle Park.
