Wilkinson Wins A Treble At Casino Greyhounds As An Owner

Local owner and breeder had plenty to celebrate last when three greyhounds she owns saluted at the Casino meeting. Kicking off the day was the win of Midnight Mischief, who, in a dazzling display, went straight to the front in the opening maiden.

She is trained for Mavis by Glen Northfield and scored by 3 1/2 lengths in a handy 23.52. The next race produced Kenstrelle who took over at the first turn and booted away to win by four lengths in 23.10.

His litter brother, and highly promising galloper, Hayden's Run completed a memorable day for Mavis when he ran the best of the day (22.75), in winning the Westlawn Finance stake. This time is only three 100's outside the , and he won running away by 6 1/4 lengths.

a litter brother to Midnight Mischief kept that family in the limelight by taking out the Casino RSM Club stake for Jan Finneran. After a good second last week, he was always in the market, and after being second to the side, finished too well to win by 3/4 length in 27.81.

's Light Of Trey kept the favourite punters happy when he made a “one act” affair of the COW 109.7FM stake. On box rise, he was out and gone, and bolted in by seven lengths in a fast 22.87. It was only his seventh start, and his two wins from the inside boxes have both been in smart times.

Melodious Lad certainly called the tune in the second maiden over the short trip. Overcoming the dreaded box five, he strolled to the lead at the first bend and raced away to win by 4 1/2 lengths in 23.15. Helen Cooper puts the polish on him, and he has been very consistent in his four starts to date.

Trainer is having a good trot at Casino at present and he went home with a winning double. Go Wild Caza who was ideally drawn inside, got to the front in the back section before scoring by 1 3/4 lengths in 23.35. Oxley County then shot around the pack at the first bend and raced away to win by five lengths in 23.04. Both of these greyhounds had been placed at their last starts here, so the form on the day was very consistent.

Bralyn Shorty took the step up in distance to the 484 metres in his stride and made it a double for when he ran 27.63 in a 1/2 length victory. Later Bibsy Boo made it two distance wins in a row for Jeff Ahern. She came out humming and held on to score by a half length clocking 35.60.

followed a winning double at on Tueday with another winner here. Sid Rose High sped straight across from box six to lead all of the way in 27.35, whilst Bokarm Princess ran a creditable 27.86 to win the Mc Donald's Pharmacy maiden for Grafton trainer .

The club would like to thank John Brasch for being the guest race caller on the day, and wish our regular caller Bob Lane all the best with his health.

We race again on this Friday afternoon.
