Wise Misty the one to beat in Bogie Leigh Futurity final

WISE Misty (Paw Licking x Wise Forecast Jan '16) will head into Thursday's as the dog to beat after recording a brilliant win in her heat of the 2 feature at last Thursday.

Stepping well off box six, Wise Misty had no trouble finding the front early and from there it was a one act affair as she bolted to the line to win by five and one quarter lengths in a scintillating 29.64.

NSW racer Poco Dorado ( x Chica Destacada Apr '16) was far from disgraced when finishing second on debut at the track, with Hara's Honey (Surf Lorian x Hara's Annie Jun '16) and Sleight Of Hand (Magic Sprite x Miss Lauryn Mar '16) also progressing through to the final after finishing third and fourth respectively.

But all honours were with the Craig Hazelgrove-trained winner which has now won 10-straight, including four sub-30 runs at Albion Park.

The white and black bitch has won 16 overall from 24 starts, her prize money already in excess of $60,000. She was bred by the Hazelgrove family, with her dam Wise Forecast ( x Whirly Storm May '10) a prolific winners – crossing the line first 23 times from 59 starts.

Wise Forecast is also a half-sister to Fabulous Storm (x Fabregas) which won the 2015 Winer Cup, while her litter brother Whirlwind Dexter also made the final of the Group 2 .

The other heat of the Futurity was won by another local when (Magic Sprite x Miss Lauryn Mar '16) upstaged several interstate raiders to salute off box five.

Trained by Tom Tzouvelis, Brandi Alexander jumped well and was able to push her way up towards the front. Once she found the bunny she was always going to be hard to beat, holding off a late challenge from Ella Enchanted (Don't Knocka Him x Ella Lezah Apr '16) to win by half a length in 29.72.

Veloce Nero (Fernando Bale x Chica Destacada Apr '16) grabbed third for , with She's Gifted (Fabregas x Big Gift Feb '16) also making the final after running fourth for Victorian trainer Debbie Coleman.

Brandi Alexander, whose grand dam is former champion Queen Lauryn, has now won four races from nine starts with another four placings, her only other start being a fall in the Group 2 Vince Curry Memorial final.

The final of the Group 2 Bogie Leigh Futurity will be run at Albion Park this Thursday.
