The time honoured Coonamble carnival is also on this weekend, and plenty of participants have made there way from long and far away to attend The 3 day event. Australian Racing Greyhound have shown they’re support and got behind the club sponsoring a couple of races on the card.
Keep your eye out, as no doubt resident writer Katherine Ernst will be penning a few story’s about the carnival. “Kat” has made the journey up here for the first time this weekend; and Kat and I will do out best to try to keep you guys up to date with results over the 3 day carnival – so keep an eye out.
Albion Park Greyhounds Race 6 Box 3 Punch One Out 8.25pm
Huge run here last week by the Wenty park track record holder. She was slow to begin found trouble and was racing along side Glen Gallon before turning on the after burners and rocketing home to grab second. She’s better boxed here tonight and although the field is better she just looks far too good for these here tonight. There’s plenty of early toe in the race and this will suit her with boxes 1 and 2 leading out and giving her the trail. She loves it here has a great record, has run fast time and I just can’t go past her.
Angle Park Greyhounds Race 6 Box 1 Tomac Bale 8.58pm
Forget the the run of this fellow here last start, where he was slow to begin and completely flattened from a middle box. As I said before this fellow is perfectly suited to a track like Angle Park, and if he pings out he’s more then capable of running 29.40 odd. Box 1 is a huge advantage here and he should ping and go right from the get go here tonight. There’s no shortage of quality engaged though and there’s plenty of opposition who can win. Phenomenal for the Jason Thompson camp has trialled in preparation for this, but coming out of box 8 will make the task of winning very difficult. Punters looking for value may consider backing Tomac Bale to win the series as I really like his chances. Fixed odds will be available with one of our many sponsors and I’d be jumping on board as soon as the markets are posted up.
Dapto Greyhounds Race 5 Box 1 Sir Prasso 8.55pm
This race looks all over bar the shouting if this fellow pings the lids. He’s by new season sire Swift Fancy who has been making quite a name for himself of late. Sir Prasso scorched around at Nowra 3 starts ago in 29.98, before failing in his last two starts since. Box 1 will certainly bring the best out of him, and as long as he gets out on the bunny here tonight, I doubt they can catch him. There’s no competition for him to compete with and as long as he doesn’t beat himself I can’t see anyone else beating him.
The danger, if one exists, appears only one dog – Rhumbar Yah; who has run a very fast 29.97 here but is quite moody at times. Sir Prasso to win.
Hobart Greyhounds Race 5 Box 6 Bees Knees 9.05pm
This looks the race for Bees Knees here to return to the winners circle. He’s been fairly consistent of late without really threatening. Box 6 is no advantage to him here, but he has won from the the 6 and handles it well. He’s a slow beginner who needs luck but he generally makes his own. He should be a fair price and look for him to be winding up late. It’s not a hard race but most runners look to have had their chance. Box 1 runner Little Spin looks the main danger and she’s drawn to be in the mix from the off set. Bees Knees eachway.
Best of Luck
