Gardoll’s Party Mode claims first Group win in Casino Cup
Party Mode claimed a remarkable victory in the Group 3 2024 Casino Cup in 27.32 under the guidance of trainer Craig Gardoll on Friday, November 22.
Jumping from Box 3, Party Mode displayed exceptional speed and control, clocking an impressive 27.32 seconds over the 484-metre distance. The three-year-old secured his first group win for owner Lance Day, moving his prize money to $85,865 and his record to 40 starts for 11 wins and 14 placings.
The $9.50 outsider with leading greyhound bookmakers finished 5.5 lengths ahead of Kingsbrae Wendy in second place and just ahead of Gypsy Joker in third. Party Mode’s performance was a testament to Gardoll’s meticulous preparation and the greyhound’s natural ability.

“Yeah, he has been a good little dog… if he nails the start, he is a very hard dog to beat,” said Reg in the post-race interview.
Spirit Boy, another of Gardoll’s top runners and winner of the Taree Cup earlier this month, finished fourth. Spirit considered the $2.40 BlondeBet favourite before the race finished in 27.94 and could not find any momentum from the middle box.
The Gardoll trainers currently don’t have any other Group race plans for Party Mode, as they discussed post-race.
“I didn’t think there was any dog in that race that could be strong enough to run him down…he’s a good honest dog. I don’t know if he’s got any other Group races in him but you never know, we might sneak off to Wenty, you never know”
