With all through the Macleay Valley and the Kempsey Track resembling a duck pond, hopes of a meeting being staged in the coming months let alone weeks were very unclear.

But with members of the committee and fellow volunteers lending a hand, the club didn't have to postpone the weekends meeting and great greyhound racing was the way of the day.

The day begun with Carlos and Cesarino Rebeiro landing the first two races with Guma Dani taking out the first event in good style and the heavily backed running away with the second. Well Done.

Race 3 saw crowd favourite Franky Rondor for Dave and utilized his inside draw, jumping well to career away and score by 2 ¾ lengths in 20.93 from Lethal Duchess and Elite Blue.

Race 4 and box 1 specialist Trev for the Hines' scored in a BOD 20.57 from who powered to the line and Zoom Around who ran a much improved race.

Race 5 and another box 1 winner, with the very consistent Stabler for the Simonetta's showing good early pace, to hold off Candy Patches who looked like picking the winner up halfway down the straight and Miss Yummy coming in 3rd.

Race 6 and in a bit of an upset for charged home from well back to score in a nippy 20.74 from Elite Valley and the well supported Cool Shamar.

Race 7 saw local trainer Toni Waters run one, two with her charges, when the reserve Mama's Sugar began well from kennelmate and fav Hot Guarana hot on its heels, but Mama kept finding plenty and eventually drew away to score in a good 30.32.

Race 8 Charlie Hardy's Highway Rocket began like the wind and raced away to score very impressively in 20.69 from Boofhead Brayden who tried very hard and Tuckwell's Lady filling the other minor placing

Race 9 A very even field of six went to the boxes after two late and it was regular visitor and who got the cash in 20.96 from Detective Benson and Mulwee Hagen in 3rd.

Race 10 In the final event it saw the heavily backed for Roslyn and Ben Little justify the support winning well from Totally Manic who ran a great race first up, and Detective Barek coming in 3rd.

The Kempsy Club wishes to say a big thank you to all the people who helped out in getting the weekends meeting run and invites everyone to their next meeting which will be staged in a few weeks on the 21st March, 2009.
