Melbourne Victory Star Attraction For Macro Meats Shootout
Melbourne Victory striker Archie Thompson will be the star attraction at the Group 3 Macro Meats Shootout at Sandown Park on Thursday 12 November.
Thompson, the Hyundai A-League’s all-time leading goal scorer, was recently appointed a Greyhound Racing Victoria ambassador, and will be trackside for photos and to sign autographs.
Thompson will also star in the ‘Archie Thompson Shootout Competition’ that will see four lucky patrons win one of four $1000 bets on the Group 3 Macro Meats Shootout.
A free taste test of Macro Meats Gourmet Game products will be available, as well as free cans of Solo.
The Macro Meats Shootout brings together four of Australia’s fastest greyhounds in a $20,000 winner-takes-all test of pure speed. The Sandown Park track record was set in the 2005 Macro Meats Shootout when Bond went around the famous Lightwood Road 515m circuit in a stunning 29.38.
Also on the night is the final Solo Melbourne Cup Prelude series, where Australia’s best greyhounds will make a final pitch for a berth in the heats of Australia’s premier greyhound race, the $250,000 Group 1 Solo Melbourne Cup.
