Maitland also conducted two strong heats of the series over the 450m journey, with boom youngster Zipping Maserati continuing his return to form with a sizzling 24.83 performance from box eight.
The son of Zipping Garth and Zipping Lilly set a new personal best time over the distance in defeating Clock Off by three lengths, with King's Riot placing third and Hold Me Up in fourth.

In the other heat, Sunrise Jenny also broke the 25-second barrier for trainer Brad Field, beginning smartly from the inside alley to lead throughout in 24.99.
It was also a new personal best time for the daughter of Dyna Double One and Lika Jay Jay. Lektra Lad for Mark Davidson finished second, with Zipping Eve in third and Pretty Boy Doo for Darryl Wilson in fourth.
