Cranbourne Track Record Broken In Phenomenal Performance

Phenomenal by name, phenomenal by nature.

The trained Phenomenal set the 520 metre course ablaze on Wednesday night to record yet another run.

The son of and Tocsin ( – Sound Lee) registered the time of 29.64, shaving 0.03 seconds off the time standard set by Surf Mail back on the 12th of March this year.

Beginning in second place from box one, the 31kg dark brindle chaser drove to the lead at the first turn and proceeded to run the proverbial hands off the clock.

His explosive turn of foot down the back straight was a sight to behold as he put a space on the field in the twinkling of an eye with a second section of 21.05.

From that point, Phenomenal stayed nailed to the rail and thundered away to score by 9 3/4 lengths.

It was career win number 17 for the 34-month-old dog at just his 33rd start, and the achievement now sits alongside his already impressive list of track records which also includes Horsham, Ballarat and Warrnambool.

The Cranbourne victory was Phenomenal's first race run for a month and the scintillating performance sends an ominous warning to rivals that he is back to his very best.
