The Col Ison Memorial Final was run last Tuesday night & the trained She's A Melody was the all the way winner.

chairman was on hand to conduct the presentation ceremony, & Col's widow Dorene handed over the winner's trophy to a very happy Dominic Traino. It was pleasing to see such a large number of family & friends present for this occasion.

Calhoun Park owned by & trained by Warren Harper was responsible for a very good win in the non graded 600m event. Leading throughout, Calhoun Park recorded sections of 9.02 & 22.02 on the way to a quick 35.25 win.

The Mavis O'Grady owned & trained atoned for last week's second placing with an all the way win in the last on the programme. Taking full advantage of the rails box, Tommy Power pounced straight on the lead to score in 30.31 running sections of 4.48 & 17.18.

Doyalson trainer scored another win, when overcame the five box to win in a smart 30.25, a B.O.N performance. Billy Rubin has now had seven starts at Gosford for four wins & one second; a very consistent record.

Budgewoi trainer is another trainer who has been enjoying success at Gosford recently, & the trend continued on Tuesday when Fiery Opal scored a good win in the 515m 4/5th grade. This made it five wins & four minors from just eleven starts for Fiery Opal & judging on her recent efforts a city win could be just around the corner.

Another greyhound to impress on the night was the Robert Green trained Wembley Whisper. Originally drawn as a reserve, Wembley Whisper gained a start from box four & left nothing to chance with a fast 23.14 run, with a quick first section of 10.89.

All in all another good night of racing at Gosford & a fitting tribute to the late Col Ison.
