Addington NZ greyhound tips

High grade greyhound racing takes up at races in New Zealand on a Thursday evening with 12 competitive races carded and the first kicks off at 4.35pm (NZDT)

Best Bet: Opawa Linda (Race 9)

The class 4 & 5 middle distance feature of the night is where we find the best bet of the evening in . She was taken up to the Island to have a crack at the heats but blew the start and though running on late had no hope in a smart field. She again jumped poorly two starts back before hitting the line strongly to finish third but then put any fears to bed when returning home with an impressive all the way win here last time out, stopping the clock at a tick over 30 seconds. She is now used to the rigours of racing at the top grade and has been gifted the red rug here to further cement her winning claims. She is well poised to add to her already impressive winning record.

Next Best Bet: Goldstar Carlito (Race 8)

has been mixing his form and his distances most recently and was unable to get into the race last start of a wide box draw. He chases so much harder when drawn closer to the rails and for that reason tonight he is going on top after drawing the ace. He as won five times from this box and it is the perfect draw for the 645 metre start as that first bend comes up quickly on this track. He was a winner three starts back over this distance and with a clear sight of the early he should go close to lowering his PB time of 37.62 seconds. Stick with him.

Next Best

Race 8 – SilkGoldstar Carlito (1)

Best Value: Jovita (Race 2)

Jovita graduated to this class when leading all the way four starts back and stopping the clock at an impressive 30.06 seconds. Since then she has not had any luck with the draws and being on the small side she hasn't quite managed the early rush. In saying that her mid and end sections have been very good and she is chasing with purpose even though she has been settling well back. Her luck should change this evening with a return to the inside box where she can hear the lure more clearly and pick the start. With that extra room to move she should accelerate up the rail and could put this race beyond doubt before the first bend.
