Dapto free racing preview & quaddie tips | Thursday, January 18
This Thursday night the world-famous Dapto dogs will have 12 races on their jam-packed program with the first race beginning at 6.57pm AEDT. There will be lots of great racing, but the highlights will definitely be the heats of a good fifth-grade series and the non-graded sprint. As always, Australian Racing Greyhound will try to find you a winner or two.
Race 9: From The East (2)
From The East has been perfect for Hayley Moffitt since coming across “from the West” and won for us here last week. She ran the best time of the night last week, a speedy 16.85 seconds, and now comes in from box seven into a friendlier box two. She may not get it all her own way early with another sandgroper coming across from WA into box one. However, she is three from three here at Dapto and has improved with every run. She has tremendous early pace, which will serve her well. She has never won from box two but has two placings from two attempts, and if there is any improvement left, she will be winning again.

Race 3: Rosebury Hustler (1)
Rosebery Hustler goes back into his favourite box in this non-graded sprint. He has only had box one once in his last 20 starts and ran a quick time 16.84 here on that occasion. He has had box one seven times for four wins and three placings. He missed the kick last time out at Wentworth Park and is much better suited back here at his favourite track where he has won 17 races from 25 starts. The beginning is all important as usual in these top grade sprint races and if he can get away with them, he will use box one perfectly and zoom under them and record his 27th career win.

Race 11: Maxie Emgrand (1)
Maxie Emgrand made his debut here last week and was far from disgraced. He tried hard off the awkward draw and now moves into a much more favourable box. This boy began well and gave nothing else a chance in a good win at Richmond two starts back, off an awkward box six draw. Now that he has seen the track, he will be improved, and he has only missed a place once off the inside box. As is always the case in the 297m races, the start is paramount, and if Maxie can nail the start, there is no reason he can't bounce back in the winners circle at nice odds.
