Flash Of Light Wins Rookie Rebel For Delbridge
Mark Delbridge enjoyed the greatest moment of his career when snaring the Group 2 Rookie Rebel over 600 metres on Saturday night at The Meadows with Flash Of Light.
And making the win even sweeter was the fact that runner-up in the race was a greyhound named Aint Workin', who is trained by Delbridge's wife Lisa.
For Mark Delbridge the win was a long time coming as he handled many group winners in the late nineties when learning his craft under the guidance of GRV Hall of Fame inductee and legendary trainer Graeme Bate.
Time for the Rookie Rebel was 34.48 with sections of 8.94 (8) and 22.02 (6). After the placings the runners finished in the following order: Barnik Boy ($5.90), Paragon Patch ($6.60), Blitzem Bale ($18.50), Sky Fly High ($16.40) and Cho Chang ($21.30).
