GWIC statement on disciplinary action against Ken Burnett

Greyhound Welfare & Integrity Commission

The Greyhound Welfare & Integrity Commission (GWIC) has issued a clarification from the Australian Racing Greyhound article titled ‘Dr Derek Major calls for re-think on cobalt testing for greyhounds’ on August 11.

The GWIC statement is:

“The article suggests that GWIC took disciplinary action again participant Mr Ken Burnett in relation to prohibited substances matters. This was not correct, this disciplinary action pre-dates GWIC and was undertaken by GRNSW (Greyhound Racing NSW) when it was the controlling body at the time.”
