National Sprint Champs Fields Decided

Jason Mackay’s Snozz displayed brilliant box speed to lead all the way and claim one of the two remaining spots in the Rapidvite National Sprint Championship Final to be held this Saturday night at Wentworth Park

Snozz, the youngest racer in the Rapidvite National Sprint Championship NSW Final, began very smartly and was able to cross to the lead at the first turn and outpaced the very talented Mountain Of Love to the back straight.

From there, Mountain Of Love had his chance to reel Snozz in but he went down by 1 1/2 lengths while Hendrix battled on to finish third, a further 1 1/4 lengths away.

Grand old campaigner, Mountain Of Love was valiant in his effort to finish second and in doing so secured the sole remaining entry to the Rapidvite National Sprint Championship Final.

Snozz had to overcome box eight to take out last Saturday night’s NSW State Final at of the Rapidvite National Sprint Championship at Wentworth Park in a smart 30.12, and will gain the benefit of a box 2 draw for the big final.

During last Saturday’s meeting several of the other already qualified Rapidvite National Sprint Championship Finalists trialled including Light Ice Lad, Knocka Norris, Drink Driver, Mogambo and West On Paris.

Mogambo (Vic) posted very smart sections on the way to registering 30.03, Knocka Norris (Qld) carved out 29.82 after a slowish first section, Drink Driver (SA) posted 30.39, West On Paris (WA) 30.61 while Light Ice Lad (Tas), after cramping in the latter stages, registered a steady 30.89.

Easily most impressive was Knocka Norris who relished the solo trial environment and will be sure to improve his first section time when it counts Saturday night but has to overcome his 5 box in the Rapidvite National Sprint Championship Final.
