Eight talented greyhounds will line up in tonight's Group Two Bob Payne Spring Sprint Final, with the winner set to collect $40,000 for connections.
Victorian runner Allen Deed sizzled around the Wentworth Park circuit last week in 29.43 and will exit from box four tonight for trainer Andrea Dailly. After getting off to a slow start, the son of Jarvis Bale and Greta Bale accelerated away in the back straight, clocking a blistering run home of 11.51.
Recent Group One Dapto Megastar winner Tommy Brislane continued his winning ways last week, leading all the way in 29.64. Megastar runner up Ritza Hattie returned to the winners circle, narrowly defeating Rue De Kahn in 29.75.
The box draw will play its usual part in tonight's final, with Ritza Hattie and Tommy Brislane coming across from wide draws. Rue De Kahn has drawn ideally near the rails, whilst Allen Deed will need to avoid trouble exiting from box four. After returning to his best last week, Evil Punk will figure at the finish and can post smart time at this track.
ARG Comment: Ran a super race last week after gaining a start as second reserve. Does run very wide, but has good early pace and if she gets some luck, can figure at the finish.
Comments: Dean Swain (Trainer) – “I was really happy with her performance last week, getting so close to winning. I'm glad she has drawn box two thats exactly what I wanted and now she gets her chance. I've kept her fresh this week and i'm hoping she can begin well and get through the first turn.”

Comments: James Coyle (Trainer) – “After being sick I was so pleased with his run last week to get that close. He will be a lot better this week and I'm happy with his box draw. Hopefully he can get through the first turn and get his chance.”

ARG Comment: Was the stand out performer of the heats last week, clocking 29.43. Will have to overcome a difficult box draw and get some clear room heading into the back, but if he's anywhere near the front runners, will storm home at the finish.
Comments:Ran a brilliant race last week to finish second behind Allen Deed in flying time and can ping the lids again from box five to run a cheeky race, but he will need to find some strength at the finish.
Comments: Steve White (Trainer) – “He's fit and well after last weeks hiccup in the catching pen and will need luck from the six box. I'm hoping he can begin as well as he has been of late.”

ARG Comment: Ran the race of his life last week to finish second behind Asia's Babe at big odds. Is suited better over more distance, however look for him to be running home at the finish.
Comments: Mark Gatt (Trainer): “I was really happy with how she went last week. After having such a long spell it was good to see her begin well and get on the bunny. I'm expecting her to go well again, but she will need to ping from the eight to get across.”
