Bell’s Fair Back To Best At Bathurst
The Mark Vella trained Bells Fair bounced back to his brilliant best with a slick all the way 17.79 win in the Margaret Brown Memorial Prelude at Kennerson Park on Saturday November 22 .
It was Bells Fair's fourteenth win on the Bathurst track in 2008 and he has now won 7 from 9 over the 307 metre trip.
Earllee snared second spot from Overflow Dream and the same eight runners will line up in the final to be held at the December 3 TAB meeting.
Two heats of the Victoria Hotel Sprint were decided over 450 metres and it was Amanda Ginn's Glen's Wish who posted the fastest time of 26.57 in leading throughout to defeat Tollmax and Fortune Card.
Shacoby Lee took out the second run-off for Lithgow mentor Terry Northey with an all the way 26.75 victory over the consistent Gandhi's Heart with Macbai The Sea third.
Black Manbo broke through for Spring Hill conditioner Lee Bowman when he claimed heat 1 of the Greg & Scott Board Concreting Maiden series. He held out Myalla Titan by a length and a half with Too Late getting up for third.
Lily Savage was never headed in taking out heat two for Les Dennis, also of Lithgow, almost five lengths clear of the Frank Attard prepared kennel-mates Lonesome Black and Lonesome Lila in 26.68. The finals of both these events will also be held on the big December 3 program.
High Five Flyer continued the great run of Eglinton trainer Earl Anderson when he registered a 18.31 maiden success edging out Rob Shepherd's pair of Loyal Conquest and Kilo Conquest.
Freeman's Reach based Shepherd went one better when he quinellaed race five, the Hothams Sand Soil & Gravel Stake. Wild Flynn made it two from two at Bathurst when he led all the way to defeat kennel-mate and odds-on favourite Gonzo Conquest in 18.04.
Rex Cook of Darby's Falls was back in the winner's circle when Tirranna Blue took full advantage of a dream rails run on the home turn to prevail over Kara's Princess and Miss Cindy in 37.28 in a roughly run affair.
