Heat One

Great lineup to kick off the Shepparton Cup series and I think the Darren Mcdonald-trained Quick Succession might have the speed to burn them off and score. Three starts back she was airborne early in her sizzling 25.56 win and a repeat of that effort will see her score again.

Ronray Spirit recently captured the Group Two final and he appears to be going from strength to strength. My only concern with him is that he isn't a lid pinger and he takes a couple of strides to get going but when he does hit full stride there aren't many chasers that can go with him.

Dream It is a class act and he returned to form at Sandown last time when placed behind his kennelmate in brilliant time. He is better suited to the 500m journey but he still has enough zip to be competitive.

Quarrel Bale has a big engine and he should run a big race if he can gain a clear passage early.

Top Four: 6 – 4 – 5 – 3

8CAPULLO BALE (NSW)[5]14565NBTJ Hunt (Lara)

Heat Two

Armed And Ready has won six of his nine starts to date and last time out he won at and went faster than the Cup final on the same night. He seems to ping the lids when he exits wide draws and there doesn't appear to be a lot of speed drawn around him. This is his toughest test to date but he should be up to the challenge.

Dewana Result is probably one of the fastest chasers in the land and if he can step cleanly he will be in the finish. He is first up from a spell and he should be primed for a bold first up showing, my only concern with him is that he can bomb the start and he may get squeezed out in the early stages.

Natural Player is an explosive NSW speedster who has won 27 of 43 on the provincial circuit in his home state. If he handles the track at his first look he should run a monster race.

Grand Legacy could be the value in the race, he has won three of four here and if he can hook to the outside early he may run over the top of them late.

7LAMIA BALE (NSW)[4]12123FSHS Collins (Lara)
8ACCESS [3]8252125.41(2)I Garland (Longlea)

Heat Three

Dyna Villa is probably the most reliable chaser to race since and with the empty draw underneath he should get every chance to lead throughout tonight. He is already a multiple Group One winner in his brief career and he is likely to be the first ever greyhound to crack the million.

Sisco Rage is in career best form and his effort when placed in a heat of the Warragul Cup was enormous, he can be hit or miss early but if he gets away he will make the favourite work hard for victory. There is one small concern though, if he misses away from the red he may get buried back mid race.

Access is a classy provincial sprinter and he is well placed in the pink, he probably isn't as brilliant as some of his rivals but he is reliable early and he always puts himself into contention.

Lamia Bale rounds out the chances, she returned to form with an explosive 29.27 Sandown win and she will be hitting the line hard.

7TIGGERLONG (NSW)[4]4255525.31(4)D Mcdonald (Devon Meadows)
8CAUSTIC BALE (NSW)[4]4116125.41(3)S Collins (Lara)

Heat Four

Caustic Bale is an absolute beast and if he gets room to wind up in the first 50 metres he should put a space in them. Last time out he missed the kick from this draw but he whipped around the field quickly and put a space in them before posting a dazzling 25.14 Ballarat win. Once again, the concern is what he does at box rise but he has great track sense and he should be able to overcome a couple of early difficulties.

Samus Allen has the great draw and she is unbeaten in her two tries here, she has the early speed to hold them out and she can run some serious time when on the bunny.

Size Does Matter has a ridiculous amount of talent but he has been a little disappointing to date, he is second up after six weeks off and he should be ready to fire.

Tiggerlong Amigo could be the value, he is better than his form reads and he should be suited to the wide draw.

Top Four: 8 – 1 – 3 – 7

7DYNA KEITARO (NSW)[5]52317NBTT Womann (Lara)
8WHO TOLD BLACKIE [3]1515325.55(6)M Fothergill (Numurkah)

Heat Five

Luca Neveelk is super talent and he has dominated the country cups in recent months. He was a tad unlucky when runner up in the Warragul Cup last time and he should make amends tonight. He is making his debut here tonight but he generally handles himself quite well when having his first look.

Azza Azza Azza has explosive speed and he is unbeaten in his two starts here, he normally pings the lids and if he does he should be able to go with the favourite for most of the journey.

Dawkins Bale is a promising speedster and he turned in a real eye catcher when placed in a heat of the Warragul Cup recently, he is going to need some luck from the draw but if he gets it he will run a monster race at nice odds.

Alex's Entity must also be respected, he has plenty of gears but I'm a little concerned that he may get shuffled back soon after the start.

Top Four: 6 – 3 – 5 – 1

7GOVERNOR BALE (NSW)[5]21111FSHS Collins (Lara)
8MIDNIGHT FLYNN [3]2124725.29(3)M Carter (Kialla)

Heat Six

Lady Ronray is a faultless beginner and she has scored some sizzling wins at Maitland and in her career to date. With a slow beginner on her inside she should be able to find the rail early and if she finds the she will prove extremely hard to reel in.

Big Ticket loves racing here and he is armed with a devastating turn of foot soon after box rise, he has the luxury of a slow beginner on his outside tonight so he should get plenty of room to drive through.

El Grand Seal should put pressure on Lady Ronray for most of the journey and she should be able to hang on for some minor money.

Walt Bale could be the value for the place, he will get burnt off in the early stages but if he can find the fence he will be powering home.

Top Four: 2 – 4 – 3 – 6
