Great race to kick off the night but not a great betting prospect. Pop The Cork is a real star in the making and with an ounce of luck he should be winning. Three starts back he posted a near record 29.58 when winning here and last week he came from off the speed to score in an eye popping 29.66. He is still learning the caper but I think with a clear passage tonight he could give the record a real nudge.

Pocahontas is suited to the wide draw and she is normally a very reliable beginner. I am expecting her to pounce on the early lead and she should lead until the back straight, she won't be able to hold the favourite out but she should hang on for the quinella spot.

Victory Prince has returned to his best form of late and he must be respected. He is probably better suited to a wider draw but there isn't a lot of speed around him so he should be able to push through early and then move out into some open space. He would normally be my second pick but he has been missing the kick of late and that is a big concern.

Whata Nice Size recently captured the Cup final and tonight he should be able to get a nice cart into the race. There is a heap of speed drawn in box six so if he can step on terms he should be able to come across with it and then as they head for the back straight he should be able to go into overdrive. He is getting stronger with every run and he really looks the goods in this race.

Queenies Best is a and she will be reeling off brilliant sectionals in the early stages. She is coming off a slick 22.78 win here over 395-metres but in the past she has really struggled in the final 30-metres when stepping up to this trip. She will be leading so I think she can still hold on for a place.

This Time Reba has been placed in her past six starts and she has a great record here, she will settle back in the field early but if the gaps open mid race she could be there to pounce as they turn for home.

Georgina has returned to form at Ipswich in recent weeks and if she can step cleanly she can make an impact.

Stargate System has turned in two great performances here of late over the 600-metre journey and he appears to one of the more genuine stayers in this event. He is likely to settle back in the field early but there are a number of front runners in this race who I think will struggle in the final stages, so if he can avoid bother he should be able to run over the top of them late in the race.

Tuavasa Shek is a classy NSW stayer and he is suited to the wide draw, he is making his debut for prominent trainer Tony Brett so he should be primed for a bold showing.

Killara is making her staying debut but she gives the indication that this trip should suit, she should be near the lead for most of the journey and she could be the value in the event.

Stella Nights is another front runner but I'm a little concerned that she might not get the journey, I'm expecting her to lead for a long way and she might be able to hang on for a place.

Hougenie looks ideally placed in the wide draw and she should get every chance to lead from go to whoa. She has won two of her past three here over the 520-metre journey and she has powered to the line on each occasion. She has won over this trip previously in a very zippy 41.95 and if she is fit enough to handle the rise in distance she should be scoring.

Ada Mary comes here with very strong NSW staying form and she should be in the mix for a long way. She is blessed with great early speed and she should match motors with Hougenie for a long way, my concern with her though is that she is having her first look at the track and she may need the run.

Eleazar is a classy stayer when on song and after five runs over 600-metres of late she should be ready to step up in distance. She has a good record here over this trip and she could run over the top of them late.

Mr. Brand is the interesting runner, he is making his staying debut but the manner in which he hits the line over the shorter trips suggests that this journey may suit.

Cheeky Freyer has gone to the next level in recent weeks and if she is given a clear passage she will take a power of beating. Three starts back she reeled off explosive sectionals when posting a brilliant 30.43 at Ipswich and she has broken the 30 second barrier here previously, so she is capable of handling both tracks well. The wide draw should suit and she appears to be a good bet in this event.

Titan Ash has the ability to lead or come from off the speed in her races and she was a strong 30.09 winner here two runs back. If she can settle in the top three she should be right there at the business end of proceedings.

Western Rose has the good draw and she comes here with strong short course form. I dont think she can win the race but I'm expecting her to hold them out early and she should give a great sight for most of the trip.

No Callaratah rounds out the chances, he was a brilliant 30 flat winner here two runs back and with a clear passage he can make an impact.

Tough race but I think if Sheridon can gain a clear passage in the early stages he should be able to make some type of impact tonight. He is much better than his recent form reads and he has been taking on much stronger company of late. He has a great record here and he could be well over the odds tonight.

Waikarie Magic can show explosive early speed in her races and she was a strong 30.12 winner here two runs back. If she can find the top early she should be able to give a great sight on the lure.

Frosty Jay Jay is suited by the wider draw and he looked impressive here three runs back when scoring in 30.20 on a very wet track. He can be a little hit or miss early but if he gets away he should be in the finish.

Spanish Queen rounds out the chances, she is a talented chaser when she can lead and this race isn't overly strong, so she could be good value.

Iva Vision is all class and he stepped up in distance last time and he posted a commanding 35.09 victory. He is perfectly drawn in the pink tonight and with a clean getaway he should be able to carve across and assume control at the first turn. He is a powerful chaser and I would expect him to be able to go a lot quicker than 35.09 tonight if he finds the top without too much trouble.

Spring Bonanza can show good early speed in her races and she has been placed in her only three tries over this journey. I dont think she can hold out the pink in the closing stages but she should give a great sight.

Kidatee Croc returned to form with a strong 35.18 win here last time and he must be respected again, the draw isn't very favourable but he should get a nice cart across from the four in the early stages.

Knave could be the value in the race, he has a solid record over this journey and he likes to scout wide in his races, with a clear passage he is good enough to salute at big odds.

Keybow is a star chaser and after being placed at Sandown in his first run from a spell he appears to be somewhere near his best. He recently trialled at Ipswich in an eye popping 24.64 and if he can show that type of speed tonight he should assume control early and he will prove very hard to reel in. He won't be flashy odds but he should be winning.

Fabulous Storm has won here in a sizzling 29.80 previously and he is blessed with explosive mid race speed. He should be able to follow Keybow across in the early stages and if he can settle in the top three he should be right there at the end.

Elusive Desire is armed with a strong finish and he has a great record here. He doesn't have great early speed but he does power to the line and he only needs some luck in running to feature.

Rose Of Galo rounds out the chances, she returned to her best with a slick 29.91 win here last time but I'm expecting her to cop a lot more pressure early and that may leave her vulnerable in the closing stages.

Knocker is a highly promising sprinter and he is drawn to figure prominently. He has won three of his seven tries over this trip and on each occasion he has gone sub 5.70 to the first marker. If he can reproduce that type of effort he should have no trouble holding them out and he will prove hard to reel in.

Cyndie's Magic has the class edge and she has won three of her past four over this trip, her box manners tend to let her down a fair bit but she appears to have great track sense and she should be able to weave her way through the field.

Blue Scorpion is drawn to get a nice sit behind the red early and if the red happens to move wide through the turn he could take advantage, he is likely to be big odds and he could be worth an each way ticket.

Love Kills rounds out the chances, he has now had three runs since a spell and he should be ready to fire.

Cervelo is much better than his recent form reads and if he can find the top early he should prove very hard to reel in. He has been taking on some good chasers of late and he has had pressure applied soon after box rise. Tonight's event lacks depth so if he can step cleanly he should get a cheap lead and that will allow him to getaway mid race.

Mpingo has the class edge and he is suited to the wide draw. He has been placed in six of his past seven and he was far from disgraced when placed behind Pop The Cork here last week. He would normally be my top pick but he can bomb the start at times so that is a bit of a concern.

Annie Benz can sizzle early in her races and if she crosses the two early she will take some catching, I would prefer her drawn nearer the inside but she still must be respected.
