Leg 1 – Angle Park – Race 8: Jamaica The Fun To Place $2.88
Jamaica The Fun is blessed with tremendous early speed and if she can cross in the early stages she should be able to build up a nice lead mid race and that should allow her to figure in the placings. Her last 50m isn't great but she should be able to go around the 29.90 mark or a tad quicker untouched and with her early speed that should be enough to be in the mix. The $2.88 price is quite attractive and I think you should snap it up early as I expect her to get down to the even money mark come race time.
Leg 2 – Sandown Park – Race 2: Banjo Bewdy To Win $1.95
Banjo Bewdy is a highly promising speedster and she really caught the eye when scoring at The Meadows last time in 30.07. On that occasion she was resuming after six months on the sidelines and after a good getaway she showed blistering speed to break five seconds to the first marker. If she can reproduce that type of effort she should be able to roll to the early lead and she does appear to have a fair bit on these. Her main danger is the seven but he is poor at box rise and he will lose too much ground through the corners.
Leg 3 – Sandown Park – Race 4: Nockabout Aussie To Place $3.10
Nockabout Aussie is a powerful chaser when on song and he looks well placed in this company. This race features quite a number of front runners who are suspect in the final stages. I'm expecting him to drop out early and trail the field, however he should get a nice run through mid race and with a clear passage he should be able to pick off the stragglers late in the race. He has been placed on six occasions over this journey and at the $3.10 quote he appears to be great value.
