Greyhound Betting Tips Thursday 10th April
A big night of racing ahead with Sandown hosting heats of the Launching Pad. Oscura is an exceptionally exciting young chaser who recently stopped the clock in a sizzling 29.74 at Cranbourne. He should run the hands off the clock again tonight and will be fascinating to watch. Oscura goes around at 7.44pm from box five, so keep your eyes on him.
Albion Park Greyhounds Race 2 Box 3 Angvella 6.57pm
I’ve been a keen follower of Angvella since his first start in a heat of the Group Two Vince Curry a while back. He was unsuccessful in that series, but did win the consolation and went quicker in winning the consolation than Jungle Junction ran in winning the Vince Curry final. Angvella has recorded some flying times at Ipswich and i expect him to run those same sort of times here at Albion Park.
He has won here four starts back in a good 30.22, but that night he fired out of the boxes and headed straight to the rail duelling with another runner, and that cost him many lengths. If he had managed to get across from the start without interference, I expect he would of broken 30.00 seconds for the 520 meter journey that night. He won that night from box six, a box that’s far from ideal for him. Since then he has drawn boxes six, seven and six and had no luck at all in those starts after crashing left. From box three tonight he should ping and get a lovely drag across with box two runner and last start dramatic improver Bellisimo Belle, who won here in a solid 30.23. Bellisomo Belle carved out a fast 5.56 first section last week and Angvella will be right there with her tonight.
Miner’s Moss box three is another last start winner and also carved out a 5.56 first section, but went a quicker, 30.13 in his first victory here in three attempts from box one. Angvella is more then capable of matching it with these two seasoned sprinters and if he gets through early I expect him to be too fast for the other pair. It’s looks quite possible the son of Just The Best can break 30.00 and I expect him to run 29.90 to 29.85 if he finds the front from the get go.
He may start at odds of around $6.00 and for a dog who has exceptionally talent he looks a good bet.
Angle Park Greyhounds Race 6 Box 2 Allen Illem, 8.58pm
It’s looks quite possible that the race favourite may win the majority of the Angle Park races tonight. Each race contains a high quality chaser and it just appears as one of those favourite winning nights. Allen Illem may be the best winning chance and could start at odds of around $2.70. He is perfectly boxed and has drawn a race that will suit his racing style. He’s a moderate beginner and does get back in his races, but he does have enough pace to camp midfield and accelerate through them mid race.
His recent form is super consistent and he deserves to win a race. It’s been eight starts since he has won and his last victory came here at Angle Park in 29.94. The Angle Park track is on fire at present and dogs are running times I feel some aren’t capable of. Despite that this fellow is good enough to break 30.00 and should do so should he win tonight.
The son of Velocette ticks all boxes tonight, so jump on him as he looks the one. Victa Sam could turn things around from out wide so maybe take a safety bet on him, if he’s good odds. Work around these two in your multiples at Sportingbet.
Dapto Greyhounds Race 6 Box 1 Supercell, 9.14pm
High quality race here and $5,000 is up for grabs to the winner and Supercell is boxed to perfection. The son of Lochinvar Marlow has drawn the red and has a couple of wide runners drawn beside him. He has been racing in fine form with 3 wins and 6 placings in his past 10 starts. Two starts ago he recorded a fast 30.45 win at the tough Richmond track from box one. He is a winner of 5 from 12 here with a fast PB of 29.85. He will need to run every bit of that tonight, but the box suits and he’s drawn perfectly. If he begins like he can he should have enough toe to hold out the speedy Fast Archer and Francois Dryva, who will be burning across form the outside. If he holds the lead around the first turn then he should be the first past the post.
Outside of him it does appear tricky as the inside runners are likely to drift off at the first turn and the outside runners are likely to be cutting down. This may cause a pile up of hounds and who knows who will get spat out of the pack. Stick with a win bet only here or anchor him with your choices in a banker trifecta.
Hobart Greyhounds Race 1 Box 1 Champagne bound, 7.38pm
I backed this girl on Monday night from box three and was disappointed when Sweet Izzy ran her down to just beat her over the 515 meter trip at Launceston. Sweet Izzy does have a motor and is a strong runner so there’s no shame in that. Champagne Bound looks a promising type and she has terrific early burn. She’s had a few starts and should be primed and ready to win tonight. There is a few first starters who have been drawn in this race and who have no exposed form to go on. It will be best to watch the market and bet accordingly.
But Champagne Bound has talent so it will take a pretty good dog to knock her off from the red tonight.
Sandown Greyhounds Race 6 Box 1 Nockabout Aussie, 8.52pm
I reckon punters can have a go at Nockabout Aussie here tonight. He’s been pretty unlucky recently and has been working his way up to a win. With the scratching of Jewel Bale this fellow might get that run he needs in behind a couple of chasers he can run over the top off. Box seven Hello Good Bye and box eight Campaspe Will aren’t likely to get across from the start and are likely to be out wide and having to push hard to get around the outside.
Duchess Bale could ping and lead them up along with Allen Deed, and if these two runners lead the race Nockabout Aussie can run them down. I expect that he should be midfield early as opposed to his usual towards the rear pattern and if he’s close enough at the right time he’ll come with a big run. If odds of about $5.00 are around jump on board, this looks his race. The likely favourites might find it tough from out wide so didn’t be surprised to see them miss out here.
Best of Luck
