Greyhound Racing Tips For Wednesday 5th July 2009

Welcome to Australian Racing Greyhound’s free Greyhound Racing Tips for Wednesday 5th July 2009 with Tips tonight from Bendigo (Victoria), (Victoria), (New South Wales), Ipswich (Queensland) and Cannington (West Australia).

Firstly we want to take the chace to make all our loyal followers aware that, no we didn;t forget to bring you Australia’s best free greyhound racing tips the last two nights; we have been working hard migrate Australia’s best greyhound sales website away from Australian Racing Greyhound on to its new independant home at .

The change was warranted as Australian Racing Greyhound Auctions had become so successful that it needed to be on its own domain. It also gave us the opportunity to completely reinvent the website and implement some changes that our users had requested.

Consequently we have now launched the new improved Greyhound Sales, the only greyhound website in the world to combine real time online greyhound auctions with standard greyhound classifieds or ad style sales listings. Now you can enjoy the safe secure experience of purchasing online by auction or browse our classifieds listings and purchase or sell in the traditional manner. The Classifieds section of Greyhound Sales will be made public over the next few days so keep an eye out for the new improvements.

Anyway, enough about us; with racing coming Bendigo (Victoria), Warrnambool (Victoria), Bulli (New South Wales), Ipswich (Queensland), and Cannington (West Australia), lets review our betting advice for those tracks.

Ballarat is one of the fairest one turn tracks in the country and in general punters can bet with confidence over all distances, although inside boxes are slightly favoured and the 8 box races well off the 450m start. The track suits both speedy and strong greyhounds.

Warrnambool was redeveloped in 2008 to remove much of the bias and interference that occured on the old “egg” shaped track. Unfortunately while inteference has been reduced, “transition turns” have turned the track in to a leader biased procession. In almost all races the winner comes from the greyhound in front about 50m from the boxes. Only strong railing greyhounds can make ground from behind and wide runners are decidedly disadvantaged. The red box is favoured over all distances.

Bulli, like Horsham is considered on of the fairest tracks in Australia, with every greyhound afforded a chance from any box. The 400m and 472m starts both demonstrate the normal greyhound race distribution of boxes 1,2,8,7 favoured, with the 472m start extremely even across all boxes with the exception of 1 and 8. The 515m start, being a slight corner start, has a preference toward the four inside boxes. The best betting races are the 472 events, but the 400m races and also attractive.

Ipswich can be a punters graveyard and as a general rule punters avoid investing in the 431m races unless you are laying them on , as the corner starts throws up many unlikely winners and lots of interference. If you must bet on these races, box 1 wins almost twice as many races as every other box with the exception of the second best box, box 2. The 520m races are a little more even, but have a decided bias toward the four inside boxes due to the short run to the corner and even class greyhounds find it hard to win from wide boxes. The 630m races are another corner start.

Cannington is one of the better two tracks which does tend to give greyhounds off the speed a chance to run on. Both the 530m, and 642m distances favour the inside boxes and the 1 box has a slight advantage over the 715m distance. The 297m races, starting at the top of the back straight, runs reasonably fairly, although box 1 is an advantage. The four inside boxes are advantaged over the 530m, the three inside boxes over the 642m and the 715m races reasonably evenly.

Bendigo Greyhounds – Race 7 – Box 1 – Major Mission

Major Mission shouldn;t just be winning this, he should be blowing them away. Has only started from box 1 three times and has won two of those atWarragul and at Shepparton. That augers well for tonight and did run third here in a Bendigo Cup heat from box 1 behind Retro Bale. This is no Bendigo Cup and Major Mission should be winning this comprehensively.

Bendigo Greyhounds – Race 8 – Box 6 – Cee Four

Don’t expect fancy odds but the Jimmy Auld trained should be giving this field a cold. Last start 25.69 Shepparton winner and has run some phenomenal times at Sandown, Wentworth Park and Horsham. First start here over the 545m but this kind of run suits as long as he gets clear at some point. A class above.

Warrnambool Greyhounds – Race 6 – Box 10 – Prince Tears

On exposed form, noone would beleive this greyhound capable of the times he is. Prince Tears is a very hard greyhound to catch, having won just 3 of 18 starts but has run quick times when winning. Has been trialling very well and won’t be suprised to see him go well from box 4 tonight. Should be more than good odds and looking for an improved run second up in a new kennel.

Warrnambool Greyhounds – Race 10 – Box 2 – Spark A Light

Don’t be surprised to see Spark A Light put 2 good wins back to back here and win just her second race from 11 starts. Changed kennels and ran an improced race here in the heat at the meeting and could improve again and make this interesting. Will start any price and is worth the risk in my opinion.

Warrnambool Greyhounds – Race 11 – Box 7 – Korongah Gem

The Phil Lenehan trained Korongah Gem should really be riding the crest of the Lenehan wave tonight. Trainer Phil Lenehan backed up a good 2 wins from 3 starters effort at the Warrnambool non-tab meeting with a 3 from 3 effort at Horsham yesterday. Korongah Gem is better than those that blitzed the Western Victoria track yesterday and should be blousing them here.

Bulli Greyhounds – Race 5 – Box 2 – Carbon Reprint

Absolute last chance for the Minnie Finn trained Carbon Reprint from my point of view. Seems to know when we’re on him and find a way to get beaten. Despite that has won 2 of his last 3 starts at and Wentworth Park and while yet to win here might just find a way to imrpove from box 2.

Bulli Greyhounds – Race 7 – Box 3 – Winsome Reactor

Winsome Reactor is coming off a 3 week break and should really be bolting this race in. Has started here at Bulli at all 4 career starts for 2 wins and a third and by ~Winsome Dollars should enjoy the draw close to the rails. PB of 26.57 wins this without improvement but don’t be surprised to see him go quicker.

Bulli Greyhounds – Race 8 – Box 2 – Dentax Bale

Last week we wne t the wrong way and tipped over Zambola Bale but this week lets try and get it right and go with Dentax Bale who is yet to be beaten here over this distance in 6 starts and is a quicker beginner than his litter brother and kennel mate. That extra pace saw him upset us and his litter brother last week and should win again. Interesting runner is Mutt Lange who will be flying at Dentax Bale late.
