Rockhampton greyhound tips & quaddie picks | June 8, 2022
Rockhampton plays host to a big 12-race program this Wednesday night. Winter has certainly hit Queensland, so try and keep warm while we find a winner or two. We have done the form and found some good bets along with our quaddie selections.
BEST BET: Destructive Riot (Race 8)
The Ken Boody-trained Destructive Riot (box 7) looks the best bet on the program. On May 11, he resumed after a two-month break with a good win over the Rockhampton 407m from box five, clocking a quick 23.81 seconds. On May 18, this son of the great Fernando Bale then won his only start over this track and distance, clocking a good 30.32 seconds from box six on a wet track. Last start, Boody ventured down to Brisbane May 30 when Destructive Riot finished a creditable fourth behind Hearts Colliding at Albion Park over the middle distance of 600m. Tonight, back to the Rockhampton 510m should suit. He should get clear galloping room early with a noted slow beginner drawn directly inside of him. Looks the greyhound to beat in this race.

NEXT BEST: Unify (Race 9)
The Rob Weeding-trained Unify (box 3) has won two races from her seven career starts at the Rockhampton circuit. On May 4, this daughter of the great Fernando Bale won her maiden race clocking a good 23.85 seconds from box four. On May 11, she won her novice class race clocking a fast 23.59 seconds from box two. She has good early speed and does her best racing when coming out of an inside box. She should find the early lead tonight with two moderate beginners drawn directly inside of her. Expect her to lead all the way in this race. On paper, the Trent Thorley-trained Spot On Albert (box 6) looks the only danger. That dog has beaten Unify twice before, but only when he drew inside of Unify.
NEXT BEST AGAIN: Spot On Lads (Race 2)
On paper, race two looks a match between the Dallas Beckett-trained Bay County and the Trent Thorley-trained Spot On Lads. Expect Bay County to start as favourite in this maiden race as she has been placed in all four career starts, but she has a concentration problem. On debut, Spot On Lads showed good early speed to lead when finishing a close fourth behind littermate Spot On Harper. At his only other start, he was luckless when coming out of box five. Expect Spot On Lads to lead early in this race, and Bay County may not want to run past him.
