Wentworth Park betting tips

Well what a week we are in for here at Wentworth Park, kicking off this Wednesday night with a wonderful 10 race program as the big guns of the greyhound world bide their time before Friday night's heats of the age classic Derby and and Saturday night's and Summer Plate heats. So many top class dogs are in town and Wentworth Park is the place it all happens. So let's have a look at the Wednesday night meeting and see if we can't find you a few winners and some great value to kick this bumper week of greyhound racing off.

Best Bet – #1 Speedy Fernando (Race 3)

Michael Clayton brings this daughter of Fernando Bale and Racing Boots back to Wenty Park for the third time and she has been improving with every run and now draws the coveted inside box for the first time in her career. She handled box four superbly last week and will get some cover from the two dog who did a bit wrong last start. She was flattened at the first turn in her debut here and whilst we are always hesitant of dogs going straight from maiden grade to fifth grade did do it on Saturday night for us. There is no notable early pace in this race and the way this girl went into the first turn last week, she can clearly hold the rails early and establish a winning break around that first turn..

Danger: Single Swinger. He was a bit unlucky on Saturday night when he did just about everything right other than blow the start. He railed well and was closing on the leader but had nowhere to go and was severely checked. If the run had of come for him he would have won. He will get a similar run behind Speedy tonight and his luck is due to change.

Next Best Bet – #2 Flo Magic (Race 7)

This girl deserves her chance in town after demolishing a good field on New Year's Eve at and did so off this very box. She was good early and maintained that pace almost the whole way around to run the best time of the night and win by almost three lengths. Ray Thomas who is a quality trainer would have made sure she has seen the track and with the red dog the only other dog in the race with any early pace it may well just be a drag race to the first turn between those two. She has finished no worse than third in ten of her last thirteen starts which proves she is due for her shot here in the big city.

Danger: . The only other dog that looks capable of leading this field, Unlike our top pick however has had six goes here for just the one placing but will improve off the inside draw and if he can hold Flo to the first turn may get the cover he needs to open his Wentworth Park account.

Best Value – #6 Not A Shame (Race 4)

Dylan Goodger and his dad have got this little girl flying over the 600m of late. She was ultra-impressive in her big win at Richmond on New Year's Eve in her first middle distance start, winning by the best part of ten lengths. She then franked that form with a very quick run at off a very suitable inside draw giving nothing else a sniff. While she has been racing over the distance and drops back to the 520m tonight there is not a great deal of depth or speed in this race and she is a chance of still leading this. Having said that though she is very badly done by in the box draw and if she had of drawn inside of box three she would have been one of the Best Bets but hopefully this just increases her price and she becomes a great value bet and gives you a big sight if you back her.

Best Value

Dog To Watch – #3 Lil Miss Trouble (Race 2)

This first starter is by out of Kerry Drynan's good bitch Beat The Bank who won twice here. This little girl is still owned by Kerry and she has given it to Jason King to train which is interesting. Not sure if there will be that much early pace if breeding is anything to go on but is definitely well bred and a dog to watch on the program and may well be something special.
