Race 1 – 520M Grade 5 – 7:30PM

The highly promising Derek Shepherd showed tremendous early speed before being nabbed in the shadows of the post here last week. Tonight with an empty draw directly outside he should once again ping to the early lead and he should be fit enough now to hold on this week.

Belfast Kaiser looms as the main danger, in recent weeks he has been racing without a lot of luck. In an event with only a few fast beginners, he should be able to settle in the first three and figure prominently. Real Rogue must be included in your exotic bets.

Top Four: 4 – 8 – 7 – 3

Suggested Bet: Exacta 4/7,8

Race 2 – 520M Grade 5 – 7:50PM

Fast beginner Invictive has the benefit of an empty draw underneath and this should allow her to roll to the early lead. She has been racing in stronger company of late and she should find this more to her liking. I am expecting her to run around 29.80 on the which should be enough to win.

Zipping Logan has a solid record here and he should get plenty of room in the early stages to muster speed. He can be a tad unreliable but the smaller field should suit him tonight. Avondale Amor and Lach's Wish both have place claims.

Top Four: 6 – 4 – 8 – 1

Suggested Bet: Win bet on Invictive

Race 3 – 520M Mixed 4/5 – 8:07PM

Woods recent form doesn't look too crash hot, however two starts ago he really caught the eye. Normally he struggles to run out the trip, however after being headed by Electro Storm early he hit the line solidly to only go down by just under a length. Tonight he should fire to the early lead and get the cash.

Hersi has won four of his eight tries here and he should be able to follow Woods across in the early stages. I think Woods might zip away from him mid race but he looks a strong quinella hope. Freddy Diesel and Kobi Jay are the only other winning chances.

Top Four: 3 – 4 – 8 – 1

Suggested Bet:

Trifecta: 3/1,4,8/Field ($15 for $1)

Trifecta: 3,4/3,4,/Field ($10 for $1)

Race 4 – 520M Mixed 3/4 – 8:27PM

Gaudi recently returned from a spell in fine style with a handy 30.06 win. Tonight I'm expecting him to fire to the early lead again and from there he should prove hard to gun down. At around the $7.00 mark he appears to be great value.

Avondale Charm is expected to start a short priced favourite after he recently scored at Gosford in a scorching 29.66. Obviously he is a great winning chance but I think he is under the odds considering how much speed is drawn outside him. Knot Telling Ya has small claims.

Top Four: 7 – 6 – 3 – 1

Suggested Bet: Each Way on Gaudi

Race 5 – 520M Grade 5 – 8:50PM

Tiger The Weapon was never headed when he gapped his rivals at in a slick 30.57 last week. Tonight he should be able to settle on the speed again and a repeat of the Richmond effort will see him go close again.

Vanessa's Flame is making her metro debut and she may be a doubt to run the trip, however she is perfectly drawn and I would expect her to set a cracking pace. The last 50m is a big worry but she may have a big enough break.

Invidious will be in the market but he was a tad ordinary here last week. Lincoln Izmir has little luck since returning from injury, with a clear run early he may cause a boiler.

Top Four: 6 – 8 – 5 – 4

Suggested Bet: Win bet on Tiger The Weapon.

Race 6 – 520M Grade 5 Final – 9:12PM

The perfectly drawn Waymore's Blue's appears to be the best bet of the night. After a string of luckless efforts, he overcome some early difficulties before hitting the line solidly in his 30.07 heat win. Tonight from the red, he should punch through early and get away with the prize.

Unbelief was brilliant in her 29.78 heat win, she fired to the early lead and was never in doubt. My only concern is that she may not have enough speed to cross Waymore's Blue's if they step on terms. Freddy's Smile is armed with a big finish and he may be a great dog to anchor for third and fourth in your exotic bets.

Top Four: 1 – 3 – 4 – 5

Suggested Bets:

Trifecta: 1/3/Field ($6 for $1)

Trifecta: 1/3,4,5/Field ($18 for $1)

Race 7 – 520M Grade 5 – 9:35PM

In what is a very open affair, I've on the speedy and well drawn El Silverado. Last week he made his debut, after a slow start he showed a tremendous turn of foot to drive to the early lead and was only nabbed in the shadows of the post. He will be much better for the run and he should run out the trip better this week.

Tarzan Luke may be the surprise packet, his form is much better than it reads and tonight he meets a field which has a number of runners who are suspect over this journey. He is expected to start at around the $14.00 mark and he is worth a saver bet.

Top Four: 1 – 7 – 6 – 5

Suggested Bet: Win bets on El Silverado and Tarzan Luke, more on El Silverado.

Race 8 – 520M Grade 5 – 9:57PM

Another open affair, Sugar is the likely favourite but he is making his Wentworth Park debut and this is why I have gone with Bobby Blanco. Last week he was far from disgraced when placed here and if you go back through his form he has won at Gosford in a ridiculous 29.45. With a clean getaway he should get the cash.

Gold Buccaneer has been racing in consistent fashion and he led for a long way in his top placing on Monday. Tonight he should bring Bobby Blanco across early and he should hold on for the quinella spot. Sugar Ray Lee obviously has the talent to win, I'm just concerned that he is having his first look at the track and is probably better suited to a wider draw.

Top Four: 7 – 6 – 3 – 1

Suggested Bets: Win bets on Bobby Blanco and Gold Buccaneer (more on Bobby Blanco).

Race 9 – 520M Grade 5 – 10:17PM

Lacey Lois has been racing in much stronger company of late and with the empty box directly underneath she should get her chance to return to the winners list. Normally a reliable beginner, I'm expecting her to fire to the early lead and get the job done convincingly.

Snow Shiraz gapped his rivals when scoring a slick 29.93 win here in late April. He is going to get a long way back early but there are a couple of chasers in this event who struggle over the journey. Vivian Bale is ultra consistent and she should feature if she can follow Lacey Lois across in the early stages.

Top Four: 6 – 3 – 7 – 1

Suggested Bets: Win bet on Lacey Lois, rove in quinella with 3 and 7.

Race 10 – 520M Grade 5 – 10:37PM

In the get out stakes I'm hoping Rained can back up from his top placing here last week and go one better tonight. Last week after beginning well he poured the pressure on Usaine for the entire journey and he only went down by a length. Tonight he has a slow beginner drawn outside so he should get every chance to settle in the first two.

Paula Dawn is expected to lead and she hit the line quite solidly when scoring at Nowra last week in a smart 29.92, she appears to be getting stronger with each run so she should figure prominently again. Raincheck is the only other winning prospect.

Top Four: 6 – 4 – 1 – 7

Suggested Bets: Win bet on Rained, take in quinella with Paula Dawn.
