Wentworth Park racing tips

While Grafton may have the final of the $75,000 Thunderbolt this Saturday night, will play host to an exciting 11-race program. The final of the dogs and bitches series will highlight the card, along with a quality staying event. Throw in a fantastic free-for-all and a mighty masters' event and we are in for a super night of greyhound racing at headquarters. As always, we will do our best to find you a winner or two.

Best Bet: Fahey's Magic (Race 2)

has done a great job of bringing this girl back to her brilliant best after a layoff earlier in the year. Her win last week at Richmond in her first 500m race since the break was superb and she looks like she is well and truly back. She has won from every box, so the draw is no worry, and the fact that the red runner is a moderate beginner will help her chances even further. You know what you get with this girl – a quick first section and then everything she has. She should be leading this field, bar perhaps the pink dog, and if she does lead, Fahey's Magic should be finding her way back into the Wentworth Park winner's circle.

Next Best: Zipping Remus (Race 9)

This is another dog from the Zipping line that is flying of late. Last time out he destroyed a pretty deep fifth-grade race in top-class time. Prior to that start, he went to Brisbane for the and was luckless in the final, so you know he will win races going forward. He will appreciate being in fifth grade again and draws well in box two. He has a hit-or-miss beginner under him, which could help, and if he can nail the start, he will lead this field. has a 29.4 personal best – a top-class time only very good dogs can run – and if he goes anywhere near that, he will win this comfortably.

Best Value: Rampani (Race 5)

will probably be the least favoured of the two Peter Sims runners in this race. He has been taking on the best of the best at his home track of and fell at his last start behind his kennelmate. He seems to venue with a win and a couple of placings from four goes here. He's drawn well out in box eight and has a moderate beginner under him, while in the green will head to the fence early, so hopefully he will get plenty of racing room. He should be at healthy each-way odds, and if he can find any sort of position at the first turn, then he's well worth a ticket.
