Capalaba Greyhounds To Return To Racing

Limited (RQL) is pleased to announce that greyhound racing will return to on Saturday, July 16, 2011.

Over the past few weeks, RQL and the Capalaba Greyhound Racing Club have worked together to ensure racing could resume as soon as possible.

RQL chairman Mr said Capalaba is important to South-East Queensland greyhound stakeholders and addressing the club's financial viability has been a priority.

“Capalaba has the only straight track in Queensland and I am pleased a viable arrangement has been found to get greyhound racing back on track,” Mr Bentley said.

“RQL has assisted with the management of the Club and has injected more than $200,000 to upgrade facilities to Occupational Health & Safety standards and remediate flood damage.”

Mr Bentley said he expects strong fields for the return of straight track racing at Capalaba.

“Families should come down and enjoy a free, fun-filled afternoon of entertainment,” he said.

Nominations for the race card will close on Tuesday, July 12 at 8:30am.
