Crackerjack Bull steals the spotlight in Group 1 Hobart Thousand triumph
Crackerjack Bull emerged as the victor in the Group 1 Hobart Thousand (461m) held on Thursday evening, December 14, 2023; leaving behind a trail of top-notch greyhounds.
Trained by Jordan Cooper, the Victorian powerhouse showcased a burst of speed late in the home straight, surpassing the valiant Got Attitude, and narrowly outperforming local hope Ducati Roy, who finished in third place.
The early frontrunner in the time-honoured race was Victorian Starline Express, who managed to hold on and finish in fourth place, while Crackerjack Aret, a sibling to the Hobart 1000 victor, made a late surge to claim fifth place.

Crackerjack Bull has now won 18 of his 38 starts, running a further seven placings.
The blue fawn son of Fernando Bale and Maximum Kack he has now won $210,575 in prizemoney for connections.
Crackerjack Bull's path towards Hobart Thousand glory commenced with a come-from-behind victory in heat three of the Hobart Thousand Heats, the week prior.
Crackerjack Bull, was the slowest of the Hobart Thousand Heat winners, making Victorian trainer Jordan Cooper the only greyhound trainer with two hopes in the $100,000 to-the-winner final.

The 2023 Group 3 Cup Night Sprint winner now adds the Group 1 Hobart Thousand title to his Cup Night Sprint title, and a third placings in the 2023 Group 2 Warrnambool Cup,.
The Jordan Cooper-trained dog also made the finals of the Group 2 Geelong Gold Cup, the Group 1 Adelaide Cup, and the listed Pink Diamond Sprinter at Warragul.
The Group 1 win is a first for trainer Jordan Cooper and yet another incredible milestone in his training career.
Cooper has enjoyed a good 2023 season, with over 100 race wins showcasing his training skills.
“It's pretty special.
“Once it sinks in, it will be more surreal.
“When Crackerjack Bull missed the kick, I was a bit worried.
“Coming around the corner knowing it's a fairly long home straight, he was starting to pick a few off.
“I had to look up at the monitor to make sure he got up,” said Cooper.
