Idolize completes amazing comeback to win MDC Consolation final
Idolize got out to dictate terms for the entire trip to take out the Million Dollar Chase (MDC) consolation final at Wentworth Park on Friday night.
Trained by Peter Presutto, started in the 520m final paying +700 on greyhound betting apps, with the Queensland visitor Magistrate sent out as the -133.33 race favourite from box one.
Jumping from box three, she got out clean and quick to strike the lead as the field turned the first corner, with Dundee Smokey in second.
Around the home corner and into the straight, Magistrate moved up, gaining ground on the leader, but just could not reach Idolize.
Idolize beat Magistrate by 1.75 lengths in 29.63, with Victorian Landyn Bale finishing back in third.

Idolize found her way into the consolation after she finished second in her semi-final of the Million Dollar Chase, on October 6, behind Cumbria Kid.
At the Wentworth Park track and trip, Idolize has had seven starts for four wins and one minor placing, with the winning time matching her previous personal best time.
She has shown her ability on the big stage, having raced in five group race finals previously, saluting in the 2021 edition of the Group 2 Laurel's Classic Final at the Sandown Park 515m, and finishing runner-up in last year's running of the Group 1 Temlee at The Meadows over 525m.
From a 2020 litter of seven out of Hightan and by My Redeemer, Idolize is the most successful with 24 wins and 18 placings from 51 career starts and has banked $311,625 in prize money.
More remarkably, Idolize's pedigree will soon be seen in the next generation of chasers.
Idolizes $25,000 to-the-winner 2023 MDC Consolation win comes after she returned to racing after whelping a litter of one dog and two bitches to sire Shima Shine in February earlier this year.
