Knocka Norris Retired To Stud After Hock Injury
2008 National Sprint Champion Knocka Norris has injured a hock and will be immediately retired to stud. In Victoria preparing for the TopGun and again under the guidance of Jason Thompson, the dual track record holder is beleived to have trialled within a half length of Brett lee’s post-to-post record at The Meadows but pulled up sore after the run.
Subsequent x-rays are beleived to have confirmed a small fracture in the left hock.
Knocka Norris’s owner Reg Kay said “”He will immediately be sent to stud and stand at Sam Cauchi‘s (Rocky Ridge Stud) place in Sydney.”
It is the same residence where Elite State, who was also trained by Kay, is standing.
There is now word yet as to what is stud fee will be or when he will be able to commence stud duties.
Knocka Norris retires to stud having won 21 of his 32 starts for just over $90,000 prizemoney with his crowning glory being the Group 1 National Sprint Championship at Wentworth Park last month.
He also holds two track records – Maitland 450m 25.01 and The Gardens 515m 29.25.
